I know those of you who are attending PAX are seriously competitive gamers. We’re bringing that competition to the PlayStation Booth (#914) this year, so I wanted to give you readers times when you’ll be able to throw-down against your fellow attendees
For the first time ever, you’ll be able to get your hands on Resistance 2 multiplayer. We’re going to have a number of kiosks for you to jump on anytime and blast away your opponents with a slew of unique weapons in gorgeous environments.

The gambling addict and family man Frank Gennaro was injected this week on the Resistance 2 ARG site Project Abraham — and the results ain’t pretty. Word of warning: the injection video involves self-mutilation and is extremely graphic, even compared to previous Project Abraham videos. In other developments, Nathan Hale has awaken from his coma and according to his dossier, “seems like a new person … It’s almost as if the injection made him stronger.” There’s also no voting this week, since Danby is the only one remaining. Stay tuned next week to see what happens after all the subjects have been tested.

1up.com asks; Curious what ex-Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki has been up to since leaving Tecmo back in June? Our own James Mielke journeyed all the way to Tokyo to score this exclusive post-Tecmo interview with the father of Ninja Gaiden, and boy is it a doozy. Always quick with plenty to say that can stir things up, this beefy chat with the admittedly drunk Itagaki is overflowing with gems.
More following Jump.

The only time we ever saw a PLAYSTATION Network card was when Sony gave us one for Christmas. Never — not even once — have we seen these cards available at a retail store. This is easily one of the most demanded items from our readers, many who don’t have a credit card to use for the PSN. Thankfully, support for these cards will expand in September to stores we’ve actually heard of.
According to the PlayStation website, these pre-paid cards can be found at Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and Rite-Aid this September. So whether you’re renting a movie, drinking a Slurpee, or buying some condoms in a rush — keep an eye out for these PSN cards.

Ordinarily, a new SEGA racer ? particularly one that hails from the arcades ? is our cue to get very excited indeed.
With the unrivalled abilities of SEGA’s AM teams to craft deep, yet accessible coin-op titles and the company’s expertise in bringing these to console, any home port is usually worth keeping an eye on.
Which is why we were rather looking forward to Initial D Extreme Stage. Based on Initial D Arcade Stage 4, the PS3 exclusive racer launched in Japan a few weeks ago ? and given how good the previous two console ports were, our hopes were high.
Unfortunately, it seems that SEGA’s usual top form has deserted it on this occasion, as our exclusive screenshot gallery shows.
Although there are no obvious faults with the game’s graphics, it must be said that ? between the flat textures, the lack of detail and the primitive special effects ? there’s not a lot right with it, either.
Indeed, we’d go so far as to say it looks like little more than a high-res PS2 title.
Slashgamer has screenshots of what games would look like if they were on the original Gameboy. Some games include: Bioshock, Ico, Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and more…Check it out.
